About Steinbeis
Steinbeis is an international provider of entrepreneurial services revolving around knowledge sharing and technology transfer. The Steinbeis Network currently comprises around 1,000 enterprises. Specialists in a wide variety of disciplines, Steinbeis Enterprises provide services ranging from research and development to consulting, expert reports, training and staff education in all fields of technology and management.
Steinbeis Enterprises are mainly based at research institutions, especially at universities – considered a rich source of knowledge for Steinbeis. The roughly 6,000 experts that make up the Steinbeis Network play a pivotal role in the sharing of practical know-how between science and academia on the one hand, and trade and industry on the other.
The transfer services provided by Steinbeis Enterprises receive central support through a selection of business functions: Steinbeis Edition, the publishing arm of the organisation, which regularly publishes works reflecting the expertise of the Steinbeis Network; the Ferdinand Steinbeis Institute (FSTI), which promotes transfer and knowledge-sharing by coordinating and conducting studies. To complement these activities, Steinbeis also runs symposia on current technology and management topics reflecting the know-how and competences of the organisation.
